Artist Laura Gilbert was featured today on CNN for her stunt “The Zero Dollar.” Laura passed out 10,000 fake “zero dollars” at the New York Stock Exchange to passerby’s. Who knows, maybe those bills will be worth something one day, being that they were signed by Laura.

Laura stated that the zero dollar project was about “the destructive role of many financial institutions, and the decline of U.S. currency to the point of seeming worthlessness.”

‘Sticker cars’ is a phrase you may not be too familiar with, but if you live in New Orleans it’s very possible you do. It’s a new breed of “customization” that’s hitting the car scene hard down south. You make the car “your own” by getting it vinyl wrapped, or, stickered.

I personally don’t see how getting a brand’s logo slapped on the side of your automobile is making it yours, but hey, what do I know. I guess it’s the same as the white boys who wear a tee shirt that says Abercrombie on it.

The two videos below are part of a short documentary of the Sticker Car scene that’s taking place in New Orleans.

Another art show in the Hamptons?!?!?! Who would have thought! This Saturday from 5-10pm @ 307 Butter Lane in Bridgehampton the boys from Edgewood Goodies, Create Build Destroy, and Don Clothing are putting on a kick ass show titled: Mind or Material - The Journey from Inspiration to Fruition.

PJ Monte, Jake Patterson, and Alex Hollender have created a one night installation attempting to display the progression of an abstract idea into a tangible product. I’m not entirely sure what they will be showing but knowing these three very talented artists I’m sure it will be great.

Featured artists include: Tyler Ben-Amotz, Jesse Zorski, Eli Jager, Richie Cox, Milton De La Cruz, Soheyla Ben-Amotz and James Katsipis. I’ve been fracebrook stalking James’s photography and I’m especially excited to see some of his works in person.

Drinks will be provided by Lieb Cellars, food by Gurney’s Inn, and music by Pico Ben-Amotz and the one and only Max Barbaria!

I hope to see you all down there this Saturday!

They travel across the world and find products that make you “why don’t they sell this back at home”. Currently they have items Hong Kong, Japan, Sweden, Mexico, Germany, and Finland. The items are all available to purchase on their website, and are surprisingly affordable.

Checkout Kiosk when you have some spare time, as you’ll find yourself browsing through their collection for hours.
Kiosk is based out of SoHo in New York City at 95 Spring Street, so make sure to stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

‘Martin the Tailor’ is a story about Martin Greenfield, a tailor. He began working with clothes in a concentration camp in Germany, and ended up in the USA years later as the owner of a very successful garment factory.

The video is beautifully shot by Ed David and directed by Galen Summer. The dialog, the music, the long shots, and angles mesh together seamlessly, to create an incredibly interesting video on a subject that I would normally write off as boring.

‘Martin the Tailor’ is a bit on the longer side, pushing 8 minutes, but is definitely worth it.
