Anyone who’s ever been checked into a hospital knows they are both sterile and alienating environments. RxArt works with some of the most renowned and respected artists and arts professionals working today to provide exposure to the finest contemporary art in patient, procedure and examination rooms of healthcare facilities.
Their wonderful team of accomplished individuals have been helping to promote optimal healing through exposure to original fine art in patient, procedure, and examination rooms of healthcare facilities since 2001. By curating artistic installations in hospital settings, they provide a humanistic and creative surrounding which helps to relieve stress and anxiety, inspiring hope and improved morale in patients, families, and staff.
They are constantly setting up new projects nationwide, and have just completed their installation at St. Jude’s Hospital in Tennessee which included works from both Will Cotton and Rob Pruitt. Other artists they’ve worked with include: William Wegman, Sol LeWitt, Thomas Joshua Cooper, Frank Stella, Robert Mangold and Julie Mehretu. In addition, RxArt publishes a coloring book which they distribute to children in their partner healthcare facilities.
I’m lucky to have both learned about and had the pleasure to work with the RxArt team, and look forward to seeing what they come up with next!
