Recently Adidas has been doing all they can to keep up with shoemaker giant Nike. They’ve been releasing everything from multicolored sneaks to co-brand sneakers such as the Lemar & Dauley x Adidas Remix Streetball 08 basket ball shoes in hopes to gain some of the hipster market.
In one of their most recent ad campaign billboards in London, Adidas appears to be reaching out the environmentally conscious type. The ad features the iconic Adidas running shoe without any typography or logos on a billboard composed of vines, foliage and plants. The message they are going for is clear, but only points in the right direction and is far from sincere.
Booooooom.com reported that the vines are made of plastic. What a let down it is to find out that a beautiful ad that represents such a positive message is constructed of the same plastic that is filling landfills and polluting the world. Adidas, you were so close on this one.
